India Executive Program

India has been a case study of economic development and cultural diversity around the world in recent past. The biggest democracy of the world has managed the social, economic and political development with a very high spirit and performance. There are versions of failure of the economic and political instances in this biggest democracy; however it has successfully mastered the management of diversity. Although, features and characters were same but the business and economic face of India or Indians around the world has changed the minds globally. There have not been much impact on the economy and it has survived easily in the times of economic crises worldwide including 1997 and 2007. India being read as one of BRIC nations, international reports from governments like USA and consulting firms like Goldman Sachs and national reports of planning commission of India forecast the Indian economy as one of the biggest in the world in next few decades and also supplying the professional manpower to the world due to its capable and strong young workforce. This scenario has attracted the global attention to observe and analyze the developments taking place and also read the elements which have caused the pace of changes. The change management process is interesting of such a vast demography and economy has invited many researchers and thinkers. However there is enough scope to improve and contribute.

About the Programme

Under this view, Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) has developed ‘India Executive Programme’ to invite executives and students of economics, business and social studies to have a first hand experience of the emerging market and study the country on economic development, industrial growth, leadership models, business and economic rationales, cultural diversity and its management, and globalization agenda etc. The index of the seminars and discussions include interactions with the professors of high repute, industry leaders and experts, and historians. This course also schedules the industrial visits to companies and visits on cultural exposure in different parts of India.  

This is a general overview of the India Executive Programme. It is customized for the needs of Partner University depending on its immediate need and area of interest.

Seminars and Debates
Programme aims to cover multi disciplinary approach for interaction with the participants and broadens the horizon of coverage from economy and specific issues of industry to corporate social responsibility. The modules and seminars are jointly worked out however some of the areas which are covered are given as follows:

  • India: History, Culture and Society  
  • Current Economic Development  
  • Success Models of Policy and Regulations
  • Indian Retail Growth Story
  • Indian Financial Market
  • Evolution of Marketing and Models in India
  • Indian IT and ITES Sector
  • Development Economics and Micro Finance
  • Corporate Social Responsibility and Responsible Business
   

These are academic seminars offered by the leading academicians, industry experts and policy makers. This involves executives and students in debating and roundtable discussions. 

Programme Duration and Locations
This is a 2-3 weeks programme as mutually decided. The academic part of the programme is offered in the home location of BIMTECH campus in Greater Noida (outskirt of New Delhi) followed by industry and cultural visits in India. Time for academic interaction and visits are equally distributed however adjustable.

Programme Fees
The cost of the programme is dependent on  many factors as India Executive Programme is mix of academic offering at campus and outside arrangement including tours. Following are few variables of costing in the programme :-



  • Accommodation at BIMTECH and during tours outside
  • Meal at BIMTECH and during tours outside
  • Train and Air travel expenses
  • Local transport in the city for all purposes
  • Academic Offering cost
  • Administrative expenses (only on cost basis)

As understood, a change in the quality of service outside BIMTECH would cost the market price. Any immediate cost raise will be separate such as medical insurance etc.
