witness the working of the Cash and Carry format of the world's largest
retailer "Walmart®". The location was Best Price®, Amritsar. Walmart®
officials also treated it as a welcome move and gave the permission for
the budding retailers to witness and learn their systems and processes.
The General Manager of the store

into groups. The students learnt "the Walmart ® way".
Post visit to the Cash and Carry

format of the Bharti-Walmart® Ltd) to learn how the group is operating in their

- Short Term Projects: (II year
Students): One can see a lot of energy in the
students. These intelligent minds work very hard and give their best whenever
they take up any task. Wherever they worked, they always succeeded in leaving
the BIMTECH mark behind. . Apart from the activities organized by the institute
and Summer Training, which is a part of the course curriculum they have always
shown great interest in learning new things and have undertaken short term
projects in the companies like Pantaloons, Titan, Tanishq and Wadhwan Group, to
name a few. Through these exercises students are able gain a practical exposure
which further helps them in becoming better Managers.
- On The Job Training: ( I year
Students): We at Birla Institute feel that the gap between what is
being taught in class and what is happening in the field should be bridged. We
also want that the students should have hands on experience regarding how a
Retail Store functions. In order to make this happen we have made modified our
curriculum wherein the students spend 4 days in the class room and have one
weekly off and they spend two days, i .e Saturday and Sunday in a Retail Store.
Learning
Objectives

the following Retail Organizations:- Aditya Birla MORE, Pantaloon, Globus,
