  • Educational System of India - An Econometric Study, Concept, 1977. (ICSSR subsidized the publication of the book).The two alternative mathematical models of educational and manpower planning, developed in the study, have subsequently been applied to the data of Columbia & Iraq and to the data of Saugor University by three different scholars. The book had been widely reviewed and referred.
  • Public Expenditure on Education-Theory, Models and Growth.NIEPA Publication. First ever book on the Theory of Expenditure on Education, based on empirical applications to data of 90 countries. It has been widely appreciated. It has propounded an empirical law of growth of relative expenditure on education in an arithmetical progression. Second Reprint.
  • Cost of Education: Theoretical Explorations and Empirical Applications, Anamika Publications, New Delhi.Besides other features, the book contains an exhaustive review of literature which highlights the contribution of Marshall and Brahmananda that had been dismissed summarily by Schultz and others. The review spotlighted as many as fourteen different forms of human capital accumulation.
  • Indian Economic Development, Edited, NEHU Publications, Shillong, 1984. The book has been developed as the reading material for the foundation course for under-graduate students of NEHU.

  • Inter-Industry Structure of the Economy of Madhya Pradesh, 1965. An Input Output Table of 93 X 136 dimensions of M.P. for 1965 had been prepared. Besides, the structural features of the economy have been studied separately.
  • Levels and Patterns of Consumption and Production of Forest Produce and Their Implications for Ecological Imbalances in Meghalaya- Himalayan Eco-Development Project of the Department of Environment, Government of India.It is probably the first study of its type and it has several methodological innovations, having important implications for future research in Econology or Economics of Environment as well as Consumption Economics.
  • Socio- Economic Aspects of Jhum Cultivation- MBD project of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.The Methodology to study the economic aspects of Jhum on a Comparative basis has been developed and has been tested empirically.
  • Perspective Land Use Policy for North East India.
    The following studies had been completed under this project for the Ministry of Agriculture on behalf of Planning Commission:
    • A Discussion Paper Titled ‘ Land use Pattern in North-Eastern India- Current Status’ has been prepared for NEC,
    • Analysis of Land use Pattern and Future Possibilities for Meghalaya,
    • Land Use Pattern and Policy Perspectives for Nagaland,
    • Land use Pattern and Policy Perspectives for Manipur;
  • Unit Cost of Collegiate Education in Punjab: Introduction of quality of services as a determinant of the level and structure of cost of collegiate education is one of the innovative approach of this study.
  • Second phase of the project on ‘Indian Education in the Year 2000 A.D., MHRD. Report in two parts had been prepared:
    • Development and Literacy
    • Expenditure on Education- Theory, Models and Growth, Published by NIEPA as book.
  • Productivity Oriented Educational System- Project undertaken on behalf of IAMR. Gautam Mathurs’ model of balanced growthhas been formulated in Input Output Framework and test empirical results have been generated.
  • Resource Implications of Universalisation of Elementary Education in the Year 2000 A.D.-Third and last phase of the project ‘Indian Education in the year 2000 A.D., MHRD.
  • UNESCO sponsored project on ‘Use of Sample Survey Techniques in Educational Statistics’ has been completed. Two Impressions have been published by UNESCO, Paris so far.
  • ‘Use of Sample Survey Techniques to Study Problems of Education of Children of Slums- Case Study of Bombay & Delhi’- Second Phase of UNESCO Project (under ix).
