Ph.D. Program
BIMTECH's Centre for Research Studies is recognized by University of Mysore for Ph.D. in Management Science, Economics and Commerce and by M.L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur for Ph.D. Program in management. Recently the centre has also been recognized by Guru Govind Singh Indraprastha University for Ph.D. Program in management studies.
The objective of Ph. D. Programme is to retain the current and develop the emerging scholars for career in teaching, research, training and consulting. The programme focuses on (i) equipping researchers with the knowledge of comprehensive and encompassing research methodology; (ii) initiating research in Priority and Gap areas of knowledge to fill up the existing vacuum in the theory and practice of management, economics and commerce education; (iii) grooming highly motivated Teachers and Trainers for the Institutes, which have been facing acute shortage of faculty due to rapid growth of enrolments and proliferation of universities, business schools and research institutes in India recently; (iv) preparing professionals, who are endowed with the requisite intellectual capability, distinctive vision and perspective to cope up with the emerging challenges of rapidly changing economic and business world; and (v) nurture the emerging scholars for career in research by endowing them a) with an insatiable desire to know, b) encouraging them to incessantly invoke intuitive insights, and imaginative speculation, and c) induce them to explore and experiment with ideas in order to invest the same into facts.
An important objective of the programme is to equip the scholars with the capability to grasp and analyze the emerging trends in the constantly changing Business and Economic Environment and foresee and envisage the future Potentials and Possibilities in order to throw up New Concepts and Perceive and Conceive new Theories that may guide future Policies on the one hand, and explain the new Facts or Reality on the other.
FELLOW PROGRAMME IN MANAGEMENT (FPM)
Birla Institute of Management Technology is introducing a Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) with an objective to groom talented young researchers to be transformed into innovative thinkers and real world solution providers, seeking opportunities in academics or industry. The FPM will effectively draw from the research strengths of faculty members at BIMTECH, who have cutting-edge research competence. This programme is both academically rigorous as well as highly relevant to the needs of today's globalised business.
In addition to training future researchers in the domain of business education, this programme will also serve to boost research capability and invigorate motivation and creativity. FPM (Doctoral) scholars will be expected to be involved as research/teaching assistants and strive to be co-author with faculty members, making it a win-win proposition for the scholars as well as the mentors.
The research focus of FPM (Doctoral) programme will lead to state-of-art research insights. This will contribute both to the research scholars getting new knowledge and the institute in bringing the new knowledge to the classroom. Leading Business schools around the globe, without exception, have this feature in their curriculum.
FPM is aligned to our mission of creating and disseminating knowledge in global context which will suitably place our Fellows as future faculty and industrial researchers. It embodies our assurance to being a class apart being innovative. Ultimately it will enable us to have a superior impact on academia as well as industry. This programme is going to be a full time programme.
EXECUTIVE FELLOW PROGRAMME IN MANAGEMENT (EFPM)
The Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EFPM) at BIMTECH is a non-residential doctoral programme designed to gratify the erudite needs of working business executives. It is expected to prepare executives for careers in management teaching and research, as well as, in management practice, consulting and development.
The programme is going to be built on the executive’s past experience and academic achievements and would help the executive maximize his/her effectiveness as an educator or practitioner. Thus, the programme would be expected to help the executives in their current management roles, as well as preparing them for possible careers in academia or consulting.
The EFPM is designed to enhance the research and consulting skills of the executive. The Programme is also expected to increase the executive's understanding of research methodology and techniques applicable in business.
