Abstract
Academic attainment is just one of the many factors that contribute to success on a job. But academic excellence does not translate into being good on the job. It is very important for management graduates to co-ordinate their personal objectives with the objectives of the business. The success of a manager depends on results, he achieves not in terms of conceptual or analytical brilliance. So the management graduate who has resilience and common sense will be a successful manager.

A management graduate must always remember that a lot is to be learnt on the job, form actual experience. This paper elaborates on the above subject.

Abstract
There has been a gradual increase in the number of women in the managerial profession all over the world in recent years. Increase in women’s education, changing socio-cultural values, increasing awareness and consciousness about women’s rights and the need for supplementary income are usually cited as some of the reasons, which explain this change. However, there is still an under-representation of women in managerial jobs. Most of them hold lower and middle management positions and the number of women remains extremely low in tip management positions. This paper seeks to highlight some of issues related to women in management.

Paper Title  : Derivatives and Risk Management

Abstract
Derivatives are supposed to provide a foundation for risk management. As such they are being used widely on the global scene as risk-sharing and risk-pooling mechanism and for hedging by the financial institutions. Their use has increased vastly in international financial transactions.

On the other hand, it is also alleged that ‘derivatives’ contribute, at least partly, to the kind of volatility on the stock exchanges and in the rates of exchange that is visible on the global financial scene these days. An attempt is made in this paper to point out some of the possible ‘uses’ of ‘derivatives’ as well as the possibilities of their misuses in risk management.

Paper Title  : Euro and Its Implications for India

Abstract
The third stage of economic and monetary union (EMU) leading to a single currency (EURO) started on 1st January 1999 with eleven countries participating in it. The main objective of the monetary union is price transparency which will result in more competition eventually bringing prices down. Also euro is likely to give stability to many volatile currencies.

For Indian companies, Europe being an important trading partner creation of euro can bring-reduction in fraction cost, charges, commission, hedging cost, etc. But whether euro can become an alternative to the dollar is yet to be seen.
