CXO Talk with Mr. Subrat Chakravarty, CHRO – DS Group
A business can change its products, markets, strategies, and even the way it operates. But what should never change?
Its values.
At the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), we had the privilege of hosting Mr. Subrat Chakravarty, CHRO – DS Group, for an insightful CXO Talk that went beyond conventional conversations on business and leadership.
The central question was simple yet powerful:
How does an organisation build something that lasts?
The answer lies in the ability to stay anchored in values while having the courage to evolve.
🌱 Values provide the anchor. Evolution creates relevance.
Organisations that endure across generations are not those that remain unchanged. They are those that preserve their core while continuously reinventing how they create value for a changing world.
🎯 Start with the Consumer.
Innovation begins with understanding people — not just what consumers buy, but why they buy, what they need, and what remains unsolved.
🚀 Innovation creates possibilities.
Insights from DS Group's Pulse, Catch and nutraceutical businesses demonstrated how organisations can identify opportunities within established categories and build differentiated propositions.
🛡️ Build resilience before you need it.
From supply-chain preparedness to inventory management, sustainable growth requires organisations to anticipate uncertainty rather than simply react to it.
🤖 And perhaps the most human lesson of all: Humans first. Machines second.
Technology can accelerate processes, improve efficiency and strengthen decision-making. But empathy, judgement, communication and relationships remain at the heart of leadership.
For our management cohorts, the session reinforced an important lesson:
The journey from classroom to boardroom is not just about acquiring knowledge. It is about learning to connect concepts with consumers, strategy with execution, technology with people, and today's decisions with tomorrow's value.
Thank you, Mr. Subrat Chakravarty, for sharing your perspectives, experiences, and leadership insights with our students, making this CXO Talk a meaningful learning experience beyond the classroom.
