Dr Rajkumar Sharma is an Assistant Professor at Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), Greater Noida. He holds a PhD in Management with a specialisation in Operations and Supply Chain Management from BITS Pilani, Pilani Campus. He also earned an M.Tech. in Quality Management from BITS Pilani.
Before joining BIMTECH, Dr Sharma served as an Assistant Professor at NAMTECH for one year. He also brings 3.5 years of industry experience with Secure Meters Ltd., where he worked as a Production Engineer and led initiatives in quality improvement, productivity enhancement, process optimisation, manufacturing excellence, shop-floor operations, and cross-functional team management.
Dr Sharma's research interests include sustainable supply chain management, agri-food supply chains, operations and quality management, digital transformation, smart manufacturing, and Industry 5.0. His doctoral research focused on developing an optimal downstream agricultural supply chain framework for India, using advanced analytical techniques and yielding significant managerial and policy implications. His methodological expertise includes multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM), mathematical optimisation, stochastic programming, machine learning, and data analytics.
His research has been published in reputed international journals, including the Business Process Management Journal, the Journal of Modelling in Management, and the Journal of Agribusiness in Developing and Emerging Economies. His current research also explores supply chain resilience, circular economy, AI-enabled decision support systems, quality management, and technology-driven transformation of operations and supply chains.
He is committed to integrating academic rigour with practical industry experience to equip students with the analytical and managerial capabilities needed to address contemporary operational and supply chain challenges.
