BIMTECH had the privilege of hosting a delegation from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) on 15 July 2026 as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships and enhance global learning opportunities for its students. The delegation comprised of Mr. Hiroki Kawasaki, Senior Director, Mr. Takahiro Nakao, Senior Director and Ms. Jenica Kalra, Assistant Director, who held detailed discussions with the BIMTECH leadership on avenues for collaboration. Dr. Prabina Rajib, Director welcomed the delegates and Dr. Pankaj Priya, Dy. Director set the tone for discussions on Agenda Points. Dr. Umar Farooq, Chairperson, PGDM-International Business Program presented the Program highlights. Dr. Pawan Kamble, Program Coordinator, PGDM-International Business proposed the vote of thanks.

The meeting, comprising the leadership and other faculty members associated with PGDM-International Business Program, explored several areas of mutual interest, including student internships and placements with Japanese companies, participation in job fairs, industry-academia collaborations, faculty with organizations such as the engagement, and institutional partnerships Japan Foundation and Japan International Cooperation Agency. BIMTECH also proposed establishing a Japan Centre for Excellence, introducing Japanese language and business culture courses apart from organizing ‘Japan Day’ on campus to promote greater understanding of Japanese culture and business practices.

Following the leadership meeting, the JETRO delegation interacted with students of the PGDM–International Business program. The session offered valuable insights into Japan's economy, work culture, business etiquette, and societal values, while also highlighting career opportunities available for highly skilled professionals in Japanese organizations. Students actively engaged with the delegates, making the interaction both informative and inspiring. The visit marks an important step towards fostering stronger India–Japan academic and industry linkages and creating meaningful global opportunities for BIMTECH students.
