At Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), the ‘Research Seminar’ series continues to foster a culture of intellectual exchange, where faculty members present their research, invite feedback, and engage in thought-provoking discussions.

What drives meaningful research? It all begins with asking compelling questions.

Our recent Research Seminar featured two thought-provoking presentations by our faculty.

 
Dr. Reeti Kulshrestha (Strategy, Innovation, Entrepreneurship & CSR)
- presented her research on the evolving phenomenon of digital nomads, examining the skills that enhance job effectiveness in digital workplaces. As organizations increasingly embrace flexible and location-independent work models, her research identifies the competencies that enable professionals to navigate dynamic work environments while remaining productive and connected.

By classifying these competencies into personal, interpersonal, and organizational dimensions, her work offers a comprehensive framework for understanding the capabilities required to adapt, collaborate, and thrive in an increasingly digital and borderless world of work.

Dr. Shreya Mishra (Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources) shared an ongoing, compelling research journey that began with a thought-provoking question: What motivates strangers to help individuals affected by war?
Adopting a constructivist approach, her research analyses publicly available video narratives capturing the diverse ways in which civilians across the world supported war-affected communities in Ukraine in 2022.

From opening their homes to refugees to participating in economic boycotts and relief efforts, the study explored why people help, how support is enacted, and what these behaviours reveal about resilience and support. Building on these insights, her work offers a novel perspective on understanding resilience transference and human behaviour within organizational contexts.

The seminar reflected the essence of academic research in refining ideas through discussions with diverse perspectives and collaborative inquiry.
