The campus placement process also witnessed leading international recruiters like Landmark Group and RAK Ceramics Ltd. from Dubai and Ras-Al-Khaimah making beeline to on-board managerial talent from BIMTECH.

Despite the ongoing slowdown, placements at BIMTECH has seen an increase in domestic package by 12% and international package by 15%. Till 17th December, 2019, campus has witnessed 50 plus companies with average package of top 100 students above 11 LPA.

As a matter of fact, since November 2019 when the placement session for 2018-20 PGDM batches began, there has not been a single dull day in the BIMTECH campus. The most common sight in our activity plaza has been the buzzing of sharp suited young men and women shuttling between the classrooms where recruiters were holding the process, sometimes between 8:00 AM lasting right up to midnight or even starting right from 1:00 AM in the morning.


Placement Update 2017-19


 

Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) had a very encouraging & successful placement for Batch of 2017-19. The season commenced in the first week of November, 2018 and concluded with the Final Placement process closer to 100%. This was achieved in a record time with faster and better opportunities with new corporates associating with the institution.

Key Highlights:

  • A total of 120 companies participated in the placement process, with over 40 first time recruiters who offered coveted roles across domains.
  • BFSI and IT / ITES had been the largest recruiting sector this year.
  • Average compensation offered for the batch 2017-19 is Rs. 8.02 lakhs per annum (CTC) and the corresponding median salary has also risen to Rs. 8.24 lakhs per annum.
  • Highest Compensation is Rs. 20.00 lakhs per annum (International) and Rs. 16.00 lakhs per annum (Domestic)
  • Placements have seen a boost from successful stint of students at summer internships leading to improved pre-placement offers (PPOs) as well as alumni involvement.  PPOs at BIMTECH have risen by 50 % over last year.

As a mater fact, commencing from November 01, 2017 when the placement for 2016-18 Batches began, there has not been a single dull day in the BIMTECH campus. The most common sight in the our Activity Plaza has been the buzzing about of sharp suited young men and women shuttling between the class rooms where recruiters were holding the process, some times between 8.00 am lasting right up to the midnight.  As of now  more than 97% of BIMTECH’s Post Graduate management students (420) of the 2016-18 Batch have found their corporate destination that they were dreaming of with a steady stream of companies waiting their turn. BIMTECH’s Centre for Corporate Relations (CCR) performs an enabling and empowering function for its students. Its activiies revolve around persuading suitable corporates to the campus, sharing placement related information with students, offering continuous inputs on soft skills, industry/company related knowledge bits, competency enhancing information, holding internship workshop, updation of current events, anchoring and dissemination of question banks generated from campus engagements, initiation  and strengthening of student networking with corporates etc.

Curriculum Vitae writing skills, soft skill workshops and arrangement of special lectures by leading recruiters, pre-placement talks, sharing of audio, video material to enhance student competencies etc. are also part of CCR’s remit. CCR is also anchoring the promotion of MOOCs (like COURSERA, Edx etc.) in the campus. This is in addition to making available the services of XED Knowledge portal to students for updating their general awareness and facilitating online projects respectively.

In the year 2016 (2015) we could place 331(401) numbers of final year students, constituting of 95.66% (98.28%)of the total strength who offered themselves for the placements, out of a total strength of 346 (408) students.

Compensation

The compensation package was as follows: Highest Indian Salary offered–INR 14.00 LPA (INR 12.00 LPA), Average Salary offered–INR 7.50 LPA(INR 7.35LPA) and Minimum Salary offered–INR 5.00 LPA (INR 5.00 LPA). Highest Foreign Salary offered was INR–15.00 LPA(INR 26.00 LPA).

 

Efforts

In all 126 (143) companies visited to campus of which 34 (50) were new companies reporting for the first time to the campus. Among the new entrants to our campus were, State Bank of India, Gartner, Mahindra Insurance Brokers, Quess Corp Ltd., Lenskart.com, Orient Electric, Emedlife Insurance Broking Services Ltd., Global Logic, IDFC Bank, Shivam Minerals, Yes Bank, Orient Cement Ltd., Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd., Bharti Airtel, Risk Care Insurance Broking, Raymonds Ltd., Reliance Capital, Mahindra Buses & Trucks, SPAR Hypermarket India Pvt. Ltd., Treebo Hotels, IHS Market, Greenlam Industries Ltd. etc.

Students’ capabilities were boosted by KPMG Six Sigma Green Belt Diploma, Internatal Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Certification, XED Intellect Training. About 8-10 seminars and workshops were also conducted during the year.

Summer Internships

In the area of summer internships, we had about  188 (170) corporates and organizations who offered three months internships to 420 (354) to our first year students. Of this, more than 80% (70%) of companies were recommended to students through the institution.

Industry Connect

In addition, the Industry Academic Advisory Council meetings for all streams were held in Mumbai and Delhi/ NCR where the respective curriculum were fine-tuned to meet industry requirements after due discussions with experts and thought leaders.
