Few Discussions :-

  • Impact of Covid 19 on the international business had motivated countries to focus on self- reliance and the importance of saving life and livelihood was discussed.
  • The panel member clarified that ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ doesn’t signify that we need to completely stop international trading. International trading is a valuable essence of any business as no country is self-reliant. One country is good in some resources and some are in other, however, we need to make supply chain simple which is very complex at this time.
  • At the same time India should take steps to attract giant companies to flourish in India to reduce the dependency on other countries.
  • The challenges include the need for learn / unlearn, adaptability, understating of the world market, understating the political, economic and currency risks and need to be tech-savvy.
  • Globalization is here to stay. International business includes both trading and investment that completes globalization. As a result of Covid-19, supply chains might get simplified but they will remain global.
  • It is crucial to learn about the importance of intellectual property rights.
  • Speaker also focused on soft skill (compassion, commitment and discipline) and to create a USP as a key element to become successful.
