Dr. Poonam Vyas is a Post- Doctoral Fellow from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi. Ph.D. from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, on the topic “A Comparative Study of Traditional and Multimedia Supported Techniques for Imparting Communication Skills at the Tertiary Level”. A Master’s in English Literature from the University of Rajasthan. She has been awarded Project Fellowship of the University Grant Commission (UGC) to work on UGC sponsored Major Research Project for two years. She is an avid researcher and has been working in the fields of Professional Communication, Applied Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Pedagogy, and the Use of ICT in Teaching and Learning. Dr. Vyas has more than 13 years of experience in teaching, research, and training. She has served as a faculty and researcher for the institutes like BITS, Pilani, Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Kota, and JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU), Jaipur. Among several academic assignments, Dr. Vyas has handled publications, newsletter, and annual report. She has conducted training and workshops for various academic institutions and industries like Hindustan Zinc LTD., Udaipur, Rajasthan, Bharat Aluminum Company LTD, etc. As a resource person, she has delivered lectures on Communication skills, Soft Skills, Technical Writing, and Academic Writing at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur, College of Agriculture, Jodhpur, College of Agriculture, Sumerpur, College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Udaipur under the ICAR and World Bank Funded Projects.

Dr. Vyas has published 13 research papers in national and international journals: the areas include ‘ICT in Teaching and Learning’ ‘Non-Verbal Communication’, ‘Sociolinguistics’, ‘Intercultural Communication’, and ‘Public Speaking Anxiety’. Two recent research papers have been published in Scopus indexed journals like Taylor & Francis- Journal of Education for Teachingand The Electronic Journal of Teaching English as a Second Language. She has also presented 26 research papers at national and international conferences and seminars.
