QUESTION- 1     What are the different programmes/courses offered at BIMTECH & their respective eligibility conditions and fee structure?

BIMTECH offers two year full time fully residential Post Graduate Diploma in Management programmes i.e. PGDM, PGDM (International Business), PGDM (Insurance Business Management) & PGDM (Retail Management). All these programmes are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The basic eligibility criteria and fee structure for the different categories are as follows:

*Candidates appearing in Final Year Graduation Examination (1st attempt) in Summer 2022 can also apply. Such candidates will have to produce final year result of Graduation with minimum 50% marks in aggregate on or before 31st October 2022, failing which their provisional admission will be automatically cancelled.

QUESTION-2 What specializations are being offered in Two year Full Time Programmes?

PGDM program provides opportunity for students to undertake specializations in functional areas of Marketing, Finance & Banking, Human Resource and Operations & Decision Science while in PGDM (International Business) programme, only Marketing, Finance and Banking, Operations & Decision Science are offered. In both the programs, Business Vertical specializations like IT/ITes, BFSI & Business Analytics are also offered.

Similarly in PGDM (IBM) program, students are given exposure of all the relevant inputs related to important functional domains, be it, Life Insurance, General Insurance, Health Insurance and InsurTech while in PGDM (RM) program, Visual Merchandising, Franchise Management and Analytical skills with respect to Retail Service Operations are covered.

QUESTION- 3 What kind of accreditation/approval these programmes at BIMTECH have?

All the four courses are approved by the regulatory authority AICTE and accredited by the highest national accreditation body, National Board of Accreditation (NBA). These are also approved by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for MBA equivalence. BIMTECH has been granted A+ Accreditation by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) for 5 years upto May 1, 2022.

PGDM (IBM) course is also accredited by globally recognized Chartered Insurance Institute of UK (CII-UK). BIMTECH has a dual degree programme in association with CII-UK.

BIMTECH is also in the process of getting accreditation from AACSB (USA) – an internationally renowned gold standard accreditation agency.

QUESTION- 4 What is the difference between MBA & PGDM courses ?

MBA & PGDM are both Post Graduate Courses in Management. In India, only universities, be it central/state/or private, are authorized to conduct MBA courses. The autonomous institutions approved by AICTE offer PGDM. From the point of employability, there is no differentiation. PGDM courses are normally found much more flexible and hence close to the industry/recruiter’s need.

QUESTION- 5 What are different categories for admission at BIMTECH?

BIMTECH has got three categories for admission. 85 percent seats in all programmes are filled through merit/ general category while 5 percent seats are filled through ESCS (Economically & Socially Challenged Students) Category - (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Minority Communities (Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Zoroastrians/ Parsis & Jains)) to bring social diversity in the class.

15% Concession to SC/ST and 5% Concession to OBC/Minority Communities/EWS in Hostel Accommodation Charges will also be given under this category.

For the candidates under merit category, valid score in CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT and good performance in further selection stage is must. Rest 10 percent seats are open for Corporate/NRI sponsored & NRI candidates.

Additional, 36 seats are reserved under Supernumerary category.

QUESTION- 6 How can one apply to BIMTECH, Greater Noida?

Candidates can apply ONLINE only through the link https://online.admissions.bimtech.ac.in and need to first register and create an account.

For online application submission candidates need to pay application fee of Rs.2000 through Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking.

QUESTION- 7 What is the admission process for the Two-Year Full-Time PGDM Programmes?

The admission process of the Two-Year Full-Time PGDM Programmes is as follows:

1. Apply to BIMTECH online
2. Take CAT-2021/XAT-2022/GMAT 2021-22/CMAT 2022/MAT 2021-22 Examination
3. Short-listing of candidates on the basis of CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT Score
4. Call for the "Selection Process" of Shortlisted Candidates
5. Final selection based on CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT Score as applicable for different programmes, Performance in selection process, past academic performance & work experience (if any) and social profile

QUESTION- 8 Is there any Sponsored Category? Does the Sponsored Candidate need to send some document?

Yes, candidates applying under Sponsored (Corporate/NRI) Category need to download the specified format from website appropriately, fill it up, get it signed/notarized and send to the Institute with other documents as mentioned on our website https://bimtech.ac.in/admissions/selection-criteria/.

Candidates can apply either in NRI Sponsored Category or Corporate Sponsored Category and will also be assessed as per the selection process followed at BIMTECH. Please note, CAT/XAT/GMAT/MAT/CMAT score is not required for Sponsored categories.

QUESTION- 9 What is Supernumerary Category?

Supernumerary category is meant for People of Indian Origin (PIO)/Foreign Nationals (FN)-International/SAARC Nationals/Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries (Gulf Quota)/Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) in PGDM program only. Candidates will have to submit proof of their status as PIO/OCI/Foreign Nationals-International/ SAARC Nationals/Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries if applying under Supernumerary category.

36 seats are reserved under this category for PGDM program only which is over and above the Approved Intake of 240 seats.  

QUESTION- 10 Is there any Management Quota?

No, there is no management quota. Admissions take place strictly on the basis of merit.

QUESTION- 11 Can the final year Graduation students apply?

Yes, candidates appearing in the final year examination of graduation (first attempt) in summer 2022 can apply subject to furnishing the proof of Graduation by October 31, 2022. Non-fulfilment of this condition or not scoring 50% marks in Graduation, will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission without refund of the fee.

QUESTION- 12 How to calculate percentage in 10th and 12th standard?

Please mention aggregate percentage of marks for all subjects (including optional subjects) irrespective of your Board regulations.


For example, if you have studied 7 subjects INCLUDING ALL optional subjects, all 7 subjects must be taken into consideration irrespective of your board rules and regulations.

QUESTION- 13 How to convert CGPA into percentage?

  1. Please follow your university/institution stated rule for conversion of CGPA into percentage.
  2. In case your university/institution does not have any scheme or rule to convert CGPA into percentage, the same can be done by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.


QUESTION- 14 I have not received any confirmation notifying the receipt of my application. What am I supposed to do?

If you have not received the payment confirmation e-mail, first check your spam/junk folder. If it is not there, you can send an email to [email protected] stating your BIMTECH Application No. along with your query and wait for the feedback.

QUESTION- 15 If I have made many mistake(s) while applying at BIMTECH, Can I make changes later to rectify?

You can edit your application by logging in to BIMTECH Admissions Portal (student dashboard). You will not be able to edit the name, registered email-id & phone number of the candidate, apart from these you can edit other details if the payment of the application form has not been made.
You can get the application form edited through admission team also by sending an email on [email protected], if the payment has been made.

QUESTION- 16 Is there any reservation for MC/SC/ST/OBC/EWS category candidates?

Yes, 5% seats are reserved for ESCS (Economically & Socially Challenged Students) Category – [SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ Minority Communities (Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Zoroastrians/Parsis & Jains)] to bring social diversity in the class.

For achieving the goal of social inclusion and diversity, these students are also given some additional weightage in calculation of the merit score.

QUESTION- 17 When is the Selection Process conducted?

The Selection Process is proposed to be conducted in the month of December 2021, an early round (Phase 1 Process) at Bengaluru, Cochin, Kolkata, Pune, Varanasi and Greater Noida while the 2nd Phase Process will be conducted PAN India in February 2022 at 15 locations such as Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Cochin, Dehradun, Greater Noida, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Ranchi and Varanasi. The management reserves the right to cancel/add any of the outstation venues for the process. However, if there is a change, the candidate will be informed accordingly.

QUESTION- 18 What is the early round (Phase 1) of Selection Process? How is it helpful to the candidates?

It is a reality that post declaration of the CAT/XAT result, all the top ranked B Schools start inviting candidates for further selection process. However, to avoid a possible overlapping of the selection process with other B-schools and also to facilitate the early selection/offer of admission, we propose to conduct an early round of PI process in the month of December, 2021 itself which would be well before the declaration of CAT/XAT results. However, we intend to invite majority of the applicants who apply on or before December 2nd, 2021 based on their profile as judged from:

1. Consistency and good past academic performance
2. Relevant work experience (if any) that brings value to class room learning

This early stage selection process provides a candidate an opportunity to appear for the process with relative ease.

Candidates need to update their entrance test percentiles (CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT) in the online application form after the same are declared for preparation of final selection list based on merit.

QUESTION- 19 How do we submit copies of CAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT and MAT score?

You need to update CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT score through student dashboard (BIMTECH Admissions Portal) after the same are declared for the preparation of final selection list based on merit. The official score card will be verified and needs to be submitted in case you have got an admission offer.

QUESTION- 20 How do I know which scores to submit?

You can choose to submit more than one score. BIMTECH will choose the BEST score based on the eligibility before giving out the Final admission offer.

QUESTION- 21 What were the cut-offs (minimum percentile) last year to get a call for the Selection Process?

The cut-off is not pre-defined. It depends upon the quality & number of applications received and varies from year to year for different courses. Please note, candidates are only shortlisted on the basis of below given scores for further selection process. Final merit is prepared on the basis of different parameters and admission offer is given based on the merit of the candidate. Table-3 can be followed for details of the weightages given while preparing final merit.

The cut offs for 2021-23 batch were as mentioned below.

QUESTION- 22 What is criteria for preparation of merit list at BIMTECH for various programmes?

The merit list for admission is prepared on the basis of past academic profile, CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT score as applicable for different programmes and the performance in selection process. Some additional weightage is also given to the eligible candidates on the basis of their work experience & social profile to bring diversity and inclusiveness in the selection process. The break-up of different weightages for 2022 admission cycle is as follows:

* Weightage for work experience would ideally be given to a candidate only if he/she had worked in executive or supervisory role for a minimum period of one year as on 31/01/2022, in a registered company having turnover of Rs.50 crores or more in the preceding financial year i.e. 2020-21. However, management reserves the right to relax this particular norm on the merit of the case, if the candidate is from a start-up, entrepreneurial or social organization.

** For getting regional weightage, submission of valid proof of residence is must. The domicile certificate issued by a competent authority or copy of passport/Aadhar etc. can be submitted as an additional document. (Applicable only to the candidates coming from North East, Southern States & Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh)

#For getting ESCS category weightage, relevant certificate issued by a competent authority for EWS/SC/ST/OBC/Minority Communities (Muslim/Sikh/Christian/Buddhist/Parsi/Jain) has to be submitted. Management reserves the right to make minor changes to address diversity on gender and social parameters.

QUESTION- 23 How are the ‘shortlisted’ and ‘selected’ candidates informed?

The shortlisted and selected candidates are informed by email, SMS and through student dashboard (BIMTECH Admissions Portal).

QUESTION- 24 When will the selection list be declared and date of beginning of session?

Final selection list would be declared in March 2022. The selected candidates are to deposit the first instalment of tuition fee within the given time frame as mentioned in the offer letter to ensure their admission, failing which the offer is passed on to the wait listed candidates. The fee for boarding & lodging has to be given separately at a later date.

Institute does not entertain any request for extension of the deadline for submission of fee.

Academic session of all the programmes is likely to start on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 (tentative).

QUESTION- 25 Is there any arrangement/assistance in getting education loan from the Banks?

Yes, BIMTECH has a formal tie-up with some of the leading public sector and private banks of India i.e. State Bank of India, HDFC Credila Financial Services Pvt Ltd, Axis Bank, Union Bank of India and Avanse Financial Services Ltd for providing education loan on priority basis subject to fulfilment of their terms and documentation requirement. BIMTECH is a reputed name in Business Education and almost all banks are extending loans to our admitted candidates. However Institute has no active role in arranging loan for applicants.

QUESTION- 26 How is the alumni network at BIMTECH?

QUESTION- 27 Is there any scholarship offered at BIMTECH?

1. Yes, a scholarship of INR 2 Lakh each is available by way of partial waiver of fee to all the admitted candidates from merit category having 85 percentile or more in CAT/XAT/GMAT tests only irrespective of the course they are admitted in.
2. 10 scholarships of INR 2 Lakh each is available for the candidates admitted under supernumerary category from SAARC countries only. 

QUESTION- 28 What are the rules for refund of fee in case of cancellation of admission?

BIMTECH strictly follows AICTE guidelines as applicable on the date of receipt of application for refund of fee in case of admission cancellation. The present AICTE guidelines are as follows:

Note: This guideline is applicable only to the candidates admitted under merit/ESCS category/supernumerary seats. The candidates admitted under NRI/NRI Sponsored/Corporate Sponsored category would forfeit the entire fee should they decide to withdraw after admission.

QUESTION- 29 What are the residential facilities and hostel & mess fee?

All the programmes offered at BIMTECH are residential and hence the admitted students are to compulsorily stay in the hostels of the Institute. BIMTECH is located in a sprawling, fully wired, air-conditioned, Wi-Fi residential campus in Greater Noida, on the out skirts of New Delhi, the capital city of India. The campus environment is highly conducive to academic learning. The Institute has both on & off campus hostel accommodation with similar facilities. Girl students are provided accommodation in the hostel located in campus. Rooms are provided on single or twin sharing basis depending upon the number and composition of the students admitted at the sole discretion of the management.

The current lodging and boarding charges for the hostel, security deposit and medical insurance which is over and above the tuition fee are as follows:

QUESTION- 30 What are the career development/placement assistance initiatives at BIMTECH?

BIMTECH performs an enabling and empowering function for the students in the area of career development and placement assistance. The students are given additional inputs on soft skills, industry/company related knowledge bits & current events. Institute has arrangement with leading service providers for additional certification courses such as Six Sigma & Business Analytics which adds to the employability aspect. The services of Kareer Matrix and Internshala portal is available to students for updating general awareness and facilitating online projects respectively. The experiential learning through short term project, group assignment and three months long summer internship are given due importance.

QUESTION- 31 What are the International exchange opportunities stored at BIMTECH and what is the selection process? Are there any Scholarships/Grants for students?

It’s a two-stage selection process: Screening at BIMTECH is done based on the following parameters:

1. Academic performance at BIMTECH
2. Personal Interview by panel members
3. Statement of Purpose
4. Applicant should have strong interpersonal skills

Final selection of shortlisted candidates is done by Partner Institute. Based on the state policy, the Partner Institutes offer merit based scholarships. BIMTECH also applies for grants to partner institutes /Universities and many times, it is sanctioned. The grants are passed on to the meritorious students to pursue their dreams. Some of the grants received by BIMTECH:

QUESTION- 32 What are other important regulations related with academic/campus life of BIMTECH?

BIMTECH expects a very good conduct from the admitted students in academic and campus life. They are expected to observe all the rules and regulations framed from time to time by the Institute. Breach of any of these may render him/her liable for penalty under the rules and/or expulsion from the Institute. The Institute reserves the right to alter the course content of the programmes, rules and regulations, teaching schedule, fees payable, living charges and/or any other matter pertaining to its working. The Director's decision will be deemed as final in all such matters.

QUESTION- 33 Does BIMTECH engage the services of outside agencies/consultants for admission? What is preferred mode for communication?

No, BIMTECH has a completely ethical & transparent admission process. It does not authorize or involve any consultant/agency in its admission process. At no stage and in no way does any individual(s) bear any influence on the process.
