CESTour BIMTECH i.e Centre for Sustainable Tourism and Development was founded in 2022 with a vision to work in research and publications, capacity building, advisory and dissemination activities, and engaging with industry, society and government projects and programs on the concept of ‘Sustainable Tourism’.
Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) has a 35 years’ legacy with special emphasis on responsible management, sustainability and entrepreneurship. Our vision and mission believes in imparting quality management education acknowledged both nationally and globally. Our institute has received national accreditations such as NBA and NAAC, and Category – I status from AICTE.
With our institute getting AACSB accreditation in October, 2022 it is honoured to be among the top 5 percent of the institutes globally. Another top international accreditation body i.e. EFMD has awarded BSIS label to BIMTECH for its reach out through social and sustainability approach, the first recognition to any business school in India. We have been committed to various academic engagements in the domain of sustainability and CESTour. BIMTECH will enhance its contribution and engagement to the next level when it comes to sustainable tourism.
CESTour BIMTECH is founded under the mission of the institution. The international consortium of 10 universities received support from EACEA, European Union on its idea of establishing centre of excellence in 3 nations in South Asia. Globally, sustainable development, responsible business and sustainable development goals are most important agenda and these are receiving major attention by business. Tourism is one of the biggest economic sectors. Influencing this sector towards sustainable and responsible business will not only create positive change in business but also will contribute in meeting some of the most challenging sustainable development goals and national agenda of India.
We aim to play our role in capacity building and knowledge creation, dissemination in the domain and developing a network of universities, business, chamber of commerce, and social organisations. We are excited to walk the expedition.
CESTour BIMTECH is established under the CESTour Project that is driven by a consortium of 10 universities from 6 countries working towards building the Concept of Sustainable Tourism at the Regional and National level in South ASia. The Project is supported by EACEA (European Education and Culture Executive Agency) under the Erasmus+ Program. The Centre has been developed with support of the European Union under Erasmus+ programme and with help of partner universities in the CESTour Research Project.
