FPM - About The Program
Offers a Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) approved by All India Council for Technical Education (Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India), which is a doctoral level programme for full time research scholar, with an objective to groom talented young researchers to be transformed into innovative thinkers and real world solution providers, seeking opportunities in academics or industry. The FPM effectively draws from the research strengths of faculty members at BIMTECH, who have cutting-edge research competence. This programme is both academically rigorous as well as highly relevant to the needs of today’s globalised business.
Scholarship for FPM students WITH a valid UGC-NET JRF/CAT score of 90 percentile and above: 1st year – Rs.50,000/-, 2nd year – Rs. 55,000/-, 3rd & 4th year – Rs. 60,000/

In addition to training future researchers in the domain of business education, this programme also serves to boost research capability and invigorate motivation and creativity. FPM (Doctoral) scholars are expected to be involved as research/teaching assistants and strive to be co-author with faculty members, making it a win-win proposition for the scholars as well as the mentors.
The research focus of FPM (Doctoral) programme leads to state-of-art research insights. This contributes both to the research scholars getting new knowledge and the institute in bringing the new knowledge to the classroom. Leading Business schools around the globe, without exception, have this feature in their curriculum.

The Centre for Research conducts doctoral level programmes besides conducting research seminars, conferences and workshops. It has been one of the earliest centres of its kind in private business schools in the country. The Centre has influenced policy and structure of many organizations through its research output. The Centre offers Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) and Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EFPM).
The Executive Fellow Programme in Management (EFPM) at BIMTECH approved by All India Council for Technical Education (Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India) is a doctoral level programme designed to gratify the erudite needs of working business executives. It prepares executives for careers in management teaching and research scholar as well as in management practice, consulting and development.The programme is built on the executives’ past experience and academic achievements. It helps the executive maximize his/her effectiveness as an educator or practitioner. The programme helps the executives in their current management roles as well as preparing them for possible careers in academia or consulting.The EFPM is designed to enhance the research and consulting skills of the executive. The Programme is also expected to increase the executives’ understanding of research methodology and techniques applicable in business.
Tuition Fee is Rs. 80,000/- per annum. After 4 semesters, the tuition fee will increase by Rs. 10,000 every year

FPM is a full time doctoral level programme and EFPM is a doctoral level programme for working professionals and faculty in business schools. These programmes are designed to equip scholars with research competencies. Both the programs are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India) and recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as equivalent to a PhD degree of an Indian University.
Scholars/professionals who want to pursue a career in research, consulting, or academics (including teaching), can benefit from doctoral level programmes. The applicant should have high scholastic inclusion and aptitude for research. She/He should have enough self-motivation to withstand the rigour of the programme.
Working professionals who wish to pursue a doctoral level program are encouraged to join the EFPM. The EFPM permits a scholar to pursue the degree along with her/his job/profession.
The FPM/EFPM programmes consist of two phases. The first phase of the programme involves doctoral course work. Research Scholars are required to complete the prescribed course work within the duration of three trimesters. The first phase requires attending weekend classes. Each module is followed by rigorous assessment. Coursework waived (Conditional) for CA/CS/ICWA Applicants.
The second phase requires scholars to work on their thesis, which involves the preparation and defense of a thesis proposal, conducting research on the topic, writing of the thesis, publication of research articles and defense of the thesis. At least 2 research papers must be published in Scopus/Web of Science / ABDC indexed list of Journals. The publications / acceptances should be attached in the Appendices section of the Thesis.

The applicants are selected on merit.
The research proposal should broadly contain the following: description of a problem or issue, a review of relevant literature, identification of research questions or hypotheses, description of appropriate methods to address those concerns. Please note that this is not the final research proposal, the objectives may change during the course of the doctoral programme.
Yes, the candidates have to enrol in one of the academic research areas of the Institute (refer to FPM/EFPM Brochure) prior to commencement of the programme. During filling up of the application form, the applicants will be asked to select their academic research area of choice.

Hostel accommodation is provided to FPM scholars subject to availability on nominal rent as prescribed from time to time by the Institute. Hostel rooms are twin sharing.
FPM scholars may be assigned academic related work like organising conferences and seminars. But teaching assistance (TA) is a way to develop one’s teaching skills. Hence, a scholar and her/his Thesis Supervisory Committee can mutually decide on the scope of the scholar to do TA in the supervisors’ courses.
In addition to a rigorous but fulfilling Coursework (Phase I) of the E/FPM the scholars are offered various learning opportunities by way of short duration workshops addressed by National and International professors and practitioners.
