Associate Professor
Dr. Jitender Kumar has a harmonious combination of Academic and Corporate experience. He has a PhD and EFPM from the Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak, and is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
Dr. Kumar’s career of over 18 years is a mix of academia and corporate experience. He has worked for almost nine years in the corporate world. He started his career as a Customer Relationship Associate and went on to become a General Manager (Marketing). During his corporate stint, he enjoyed forming long-lasting professional relationships, strategizing for innovative marketing, and handling rapid marketing operations. His corporate experience has provided him with a first-hand experience of market dynamics, which makes him relate more to them while teaching and researching.
In his academic career profile, Dr. Kumar is an acclaimed researcher and thought leader in the field of marketing, especially digital marketing and strategy. He has multiple research papers published in various ABDC-listed journals. His research papers have been highly influential in certain areas like Social Media, Bottom of the Pyramid, and Nostalgia Marketing, to name a few. He has also published several case studies with Richard Ivey Publishing and Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies (Scopus-indexed). These publications in the format of case studies indicate his efforts to produce teaching materials that are relevant in the industry because they are practice-based.
Dr. Kumar is an Assistant Editor of the South Asian Journal of Business and Management Cases, Editorial Board Member of Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies. He plays a leading role in the research and teaching of case-based methodology in his field.
His research has received wide recognition and has been presented at various national and international-level conferences focusing on modern marketing and digital disruption. He received the Best Research Plan Award from the Academy of Indian Marketing at the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow.
Along with research and teaching, Dr. Kumar has made substantial contributions in the area of academic leadership and professional development. He had organized several national and international conferences, MDP, FDP, and online and on-campus training programs on Digital Marketing, Sales, and Strategic Marketing. He has also been actively working in organizing international case study workshops to promote case-based pedagogy and hands-on experience among management education practitioners.
In addition, he also contributes to publishing scholarly works and serves as a Co-Editor for Routledge and Taylor & Francis, where he edited book titles presenting the most current findings in management and marketing disciplines. Dr. Kumar has been awarded, recognized, and appreciated by multiple institutions throughout his career.
